COPTIC MENTAL HEALTH

// typography and illustration

[DIMENSIONS: 4 x 6 in]

Copt {/ˈkäpt/} - a member of Egypt's indigenous Christian ethnoreligious community, predominantly of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Being a Coptic Egyptian woman, I’ve centered my designs around fighting social issues in my community, one of them being the stigma around mental health and how it’s not talked about. As a person who has suffered and seen young people struggle silently with mental health, I decided to create a zine pleading to the older generations of my community to address the issue instead of ignoring the problem.
