This project was focused on figuring out how to work together as a class to make an animation out of a poem. Each person was assigned a line from the poem “No Manifesto” by Yvonne Rainer, a contemporary American dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker. I was given the assignment of creatively animating her name. I decided to rotoscope one of her more famous dances, which can be found in a blurry clip on YouTube because I felt it embodies her spirit and personality. My idea was to take a blurry clip and bring it to life all over again by tracing her movements adding color, and then displaying her name at the very end.
