YVONNE RAINER ROTOSCOPE
This project was focused on figuring out how to work together as a class to make an animation out of a poem. Each person was assigned a line from the poem “No Manifesto” by Yvonne Rainer, a contemporary American dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker. I was given the assignment of creatively animating her name. I decided to rotoscope one of her more famous dances, which can be found in a blurry clip on YouTube because I felt it embodies her spirit and personality. My idea was to take this blurry clip and bring it to life all over again by tracing her movements adding color, and then displaying her name at the very end.
